The municipal tax rate is up 13 percent in Rutland.

The Board of Aldermen set the rate at $1.58 per $100 of assessed property value, up from last year's $1.39. The school rates -- $1.45 residential and $1.58 non-residential -- are close to level with last year.

Combined taxes on a $150,000 home would be $4,538, up from last year's $4,271.
