USA vs. Germany
It’s do or die time today for the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team, and the Paramount Theatre will show Team USA’s stand live at noon on their giant high-definition screen.
After last week’s stunning draw against Portugal, America’s chances of advancing to the knock-out rounds of the 2014 World Cup will depend on its performance against Germany and the outcome of a simultaneous match between Portugal and Ghana. Any of the four teams in Group G could still advance.
The winner of Group G will go on to face the runner-up of Group H — made up of Belgium, Algeria, Russia and South Korea — while the runner-up will face Group H’s runner-up.
Group H plays later this afternoon. Belgium currently stands at the top of the group table, having already qualified, but any of the other three teams could still join them in the knock-out rounds.MORE IN This Just InSpringfield residents approved town and school budgets in balloting Tuesday.
