    new leader

BRATTLEBORO — The arts and entertainment editor from the Brattleboro Reformer will take over direction of Latchis Hotel & Theatre this summer, the Keene Sentinel reported.

As the new executive director, Jon Potter will oversee the day-to-day business of the hotel and theater as well as the nonprofit arts component, according to an announcement from Lisa Blotch, president of Latchis Arts, and Rick Hashagen, president of Latchis Corporation.

Potter has covered arts in the region for the past 11 years as the editor of Ovation, the weekly arts and entertainment section of the Reformer.

He replaces Gail Nunziata, who is stepping down after holding the position of executive director for 10 years.

The Latchis Corporation is the for-profit business of the theater and hotel on the corner of Main and Flat streets, which Latchis Arts, a nonprofit art advocacy group, acquired in 2003.

Potter said he’s excited to take on a new role in Brattleboro’s arts scene.

“The Latchis is a cornerstone of the arts in the region,” he said. “I am honored to be chosen to take on the task.”

He starts in his new role July 1.
