    POULTNEY — A student at Green Mountain College in Poultney committed suicide Friday morning, according to a GMC press release.

    In the statement issued Tuesday, the college announced, “The death occurred during the final exam period, a time of high tension for many students. Our community and the family of the deceased need time to heal from this tragic loss. Students seeking support have been meeting with counselors since the time of the tragedy.”

    The student was not identified.
