Fire crews survey the damage after an early-morning blaze in Chester at the Field Farm on Route 11 west.
A two alarm structure fire in Chester on VT route 11 West and Blue Hill Road completely destroyed the Field Farm built in 1822, and shut down roads in several directions as crews fought to save the building. Fire companies from Walpole and Charlestown NH, Bellows Falls, Rockingham, Chester, Springfield, Ludlow, Londonderry and Reading assisted in extinguishing the blaze that was called in around 4 a.m.
