SOUTH BURLINGTON — Tommy Fitzgerald 16 points, including 14 in first half with four 3-pointers, as No. 3 Rice defeated No. 6 Rutland. James Wells added 10 points and 10 blocks. Ben Shungu with a dozen points for Green Knights (18-4), who led 42-13 at halftime after a 23-7 second quarter.
Three players led Rutland with six points: Jacob Alsop, Sam Brochu and Bailey Plante. Patrick O’Rourke finished with five points.
