Snowmobile taken in Chester
Police investigate snowmobile theft
CHESTER — Police are looking for a snowmobile that was taken in the early hours Friday morning from a camp off Snell Road.
Officers arrived at the purported crime scene about 6:30 a.m. and found footsteps leading from Snell Road into the camp, with snowmobile tracks leading out, said Chester Police Chief Richard Cloud. After wading through the deep and falling snow, they found that a snowmobile trailer had been broken into and the machine taken; they also found the camp had been broken into and winter clothing stolen.
Police do not yet have information on the make of the snowmobile, but ask that anyone who may have heard or seen a snowmobile in the area overnight Thursday into Friday to call 775-2035. The snowmobile headed down Snell Road onto Mattson Road, then onto Spoonerville Road toward Springfield.
