ST. JOHNSBURY — A school superintendent in St. Johnsbury says contract talks between the district and teachers are moving slowly.

Superintendent Ranny Bledsoe said the conversations are respectful, but she thinks there’s a long way to go.

Contracts for both teachers and para-educators in the community are being negotiated.

Contract talks are scheduled to be held every other week through March.

Bledsoe said officials hope to reach an agreement by spring.
