    WEST PAWLET — Lenora Evelyn “Gram” Clark, 93, died Nov. 18, 2013, at the Indian River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Granville, N.Y.

    She was born April 12, 1920, in West Pawlet, the daughter of Jay and Charlotte (Ballard) Stearns.

    She married Chester Clark. They spent the beginning of their 73-year marriage in a one-room schoolhouse, converted into a home. They eventually bought a dairy farm.

    She was a past president of the West Pawlet PTA, and a 4-H leader for many years.

    She was a former deacon of the Rupert Congregational Church, and treasurer of the Women’s Fellowship Group.

    She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and making maple syrup and maple cream.

    Survivors include her husband, Chester Clark of West Pawlet; a son, Clifford Clark of Danville; a daughter, Sharon Orth of Albany, N.Y.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    She was predeceased by a son, Lawrence “Larry” Clark, and by her siblings.

    A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the Rupert Congregational Church, with the Rev. Mary Beth Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Rupert Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in the basement of the church.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the West Pawlet Fire Department.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, N.Y.
