Medical examiner’s report: Four police bullets hit manThe Associated Press | November 19,2013BURLINGTON — Vermont state police say a Burlington police officer fired his weapon four times in a fatal encounter with a suspect this month and hit the man all four times.
State police issued a statement Monday quoting a report from the chief state medical examiner that four bullets had been removed from the torso of 49-year-old Wayne Brunette, who was killed Nov. 6.
State police say separate evidence indicates Cpl. Ethan Thibault fired his weapon four times.
Police have said Brunette ignored several orders to drop a shovel he was carrying before Thibault shot him.
Others have questioned the police use of lethal force in the incident, with the Vermont chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union calling for a grand jury investigation.MORE IN Vermont News
