    Lucretia T. Belanger

    BENNINGTON — Lucretia Thompson Belanger, 84, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013.

    She was born in Bennington, July 1, 1929, the daughter of Earl and Bridget (Mahar) Thompson.

    She was a 1947 graduate of Bennington High School.

    On Feb. 19, 1950, she married Vernon Belanger in Bennington.

    Mrs. Belanger and her husband owned and operated Yotts’ Market in Bennington.

    She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, as well as tending her perennial gardens.

    Survivors include her husband of Bennington; two daughters, Christine Belanger of Hagaman, N.Y., and Lynn Belanger of Bennington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Thompson, and a sister, Virginia Galipeau.

    The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 28, in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, with the Rev. Joel Tibbetts officiating.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice at Southwestern Vermont Health Care, in care of Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
