Vt snowmobile, bike path bridge in place in St. JohnsburyThe Associated Press | October 12,2013ST. JOHNSBURY — A St. Johnsbury recreation path is now connected to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, which is to run 93 miles across northern Vermont.
The connection came Thursday when a 75-foot-long recreation bridge was lowered into place above St. Johnsbury’s Vernon Street.
It’s part of construction on 15 miles of the trail from St. Johnsbury to West Danville that includes an even larger bridge in Danville that is due to be installed later this month.
The rail trail will be open to nonmotorized recreation and, in the winter, snowmobiles.
St. Johnsbury officials are looking for a way to get snowmobiles into the downtown.MORE IN This Just InCaramelized leeks bring flavor to mashed to potatoes. Full Story
