Vermont State Police will conduct some training exercises Friday in downtown Rutland.

The exercises will be held primarily in the old Community College of Vermont building on Evelyn Street and inside the building located next to the Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce on Merchants Row.

This is strictly a training exercise and the public should be aware of a possibly larger than average trooper presence in the area during the training.

Anyone with questions regarding the training can contact Sgt. Steven Coote at 483-2606.

Note: Due to an editing error, this story was previously posted with Thursday as the training date. It will be Friday, Oct. 4.
