    BRANDON — Linda M. Blackwood, 66, died unexpectedly Sept. 8, 2013, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.

    She was born Feb. 4, 1947, in South Glens Falls, N.Y., the daughter of Earl and Hattie (Dayton) Winchell.

    She grew up in South Glens Falls, N.Y., where she attended the local school.

    She was a longtime resident of Orwell, prior to relocating to Brandon.

    She enjoyed ceramics and line dancing.

    Survivors include her daughter, Bambi Blackwood of Brandon; a son, James Blackwood who is serving in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Meade, Md.; her former husband, Milton Blackwood of Fair Haven; a granddaughter; a sister, Edna Beljavskis of Georgia; nieces and nephews.

    She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Edwin Winchell.

    Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven.

    Burial will be at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery in Castleton.
