KEESEVILLE, N.Y. — Irene “Bunny” Mussen, 81, of the Highlands Road, Keeseville, died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Rutland, Vermont, April 15, 1932, the eldest daughter of Milton and Doris (Carter) Dorr.
“Bunny,” as she was fondly referred to, enjoyed bingo, cross-stitch, and watching old black-and-white movies. Her true love, however, was spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Benjamin F. Mussen, whom she married July 29, 1953; three daughters, Joanne Lattrell of Keeseville, Susan Mussen of Keeseville, and Terry and Randall Ashline of Keeseville; two step-children, Frank Mussen and his wife, Pat of Keeseville, and Sandra and her husband, Dane of Irvine, CA; grandchildren and their spouses: Corey and Crystal Lattrell of Keeseville, Bethany and Bill Boyce of Keeseville, Tanner and Monica Lattrell of Keeseville, Austin Ashline of San Diego, CA, Lindsey and Ryan Campagna of Syracuse, and Jake Mussen of Keeseville; siblings: Patricia and husband, George Pettie of Rutland, VT, Mary Ann and husband, Melvin Bruso of Rutland, VT, Richard Dorr of Arlington, VT, Reginald Dorr and wife, Jane of Proctor, VT, and Judy and husband, Richard Bailey of Rutland, VT; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; son-in-law, Robert Lattrell; sister-in-law, Yvonne Dorr; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and John Rosmus; and brother and sister-in-law, “Buddy” and Mary Dorr.
Calling hours will be held Friday, August 30, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A graveside service will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville, with Pastor Edie A. Poland officiating.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Horace Nye Nursing Home.
