KILLINGTON - Calling all chili cooks and enthusiasts: There’s still time to register for the parks and recreation department’s first annual chili cook-off.

Competitive cooks have until Monday afternoon to visit the park’s website at www.killingtonrec.com to download and submit a registration form. There is no cost to enter.

The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. July 25 at Sherburne Memorial Library, and will coincide with live music from Chad Hollister as part of the River Road Concert Series.

Tasting tickets to sample the chili entries are $3 per person. Competitors will be judged and receive awards in four categories: best meat, best vegetarian, people’s choice and best of Killington.

There will also be beer on tap for patrons with valid identification.

“We’re super excited to add this to our line up,” said Lindsay Gang, director of the parks and recreation department. “It combines food, beer and live music. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
