    LUDLOW — Gerald G. “Pops” Roundy, 84, died July 5, 2013, at his home.

    He was born May 1, 1929, the son of Abbie and Elmer Roundy.

    He was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services, and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Army National Guard for 39 years.

    He served as a member of the Honor Guard for President Eisenhower when he visited Vermont.

    He retired from General Electric following 35 years of service.

    He was a member of the VFW and American Legion, Ballard Hobart Post 36 in Ludlow.

    Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gayle (Cardell) Roundy; nine children, Cindy Winston, Terry, Gary, Valerie Collins, Brian, Gerald, Jeannie Valiquette, Randall, and Shawn; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Ludlow.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the cancer society of one’s choice.
