    EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — Marjorie (Greeno) Bedard, 81, of East Hartford, Conn., peacefully passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, Conn., with her caring family by her side.Marjorie was the loving wife of over 51 years of the late George J. Bedard.

    Born in Pittsford, Vt., on December 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Perley and Anna (Steele) Greeno, she had been a resident of East Hartford, Conn., since 1975. Marjorie was a dedicated employee for many years for the Travelers Insurance Co., Hartford, Conn., where she retired as an underwriter. Marjorie loved to crochet and make afghans for family and friends. She also liked watching basketball. Most of all, Marjorie enjoyed being with family and friends, especially at Christmas and during all holidays.

    Besides her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Michael P. Bedard of Stevensville, Md. Marjorie is survived by her devoted daughter, Diane J. Counihan of Torrington, Conn.; two sisters, Rosemary Clark and her husband, Lee, of Vermont, Beverly Zechner of Schenectady, N.Y.; two special granddaughters, Jennifer Scarborough and her husband, Michael, Kristen Swayne and her husband, Tyler, all of Maryland; one adored great-grandson, Oliver Scarborough of Maryland; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

    Funeral services will be Saturday, July 13, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, Route 7, Pittsford, Vt. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church on Saturday morning. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Section K, Pittsford, Vt. There are no calling hours.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Partners Home Health and Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.
