• Police probe maple syrup theft

    MONTPELIER — Vermont State Police are investigating the theft of 400 gallons of maple syrup in Starksboro.

    Police said David Allen reported Friday that the syrup was stored in bulk barrels, and was valued at about $1,200.

    Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact the Vermont State Police at 300-4919, or to leave an anonymous tip by texting “CRIMES” to keyword VTIPS.
