In the 19 years Iíve lived in Rutland Iím shocked with the way Rutlandís community has changed. The community has degenerated. The number of the assaults, robberies, drugs, and teenage pregnancy has increased. I believe this community could be changed by us. We need to choose to take our community back. If everyone chose to do one thing to change our own neighborhoods, or our own situations, think of how empowering that would be. We cannot be scared of change, but embrace the impact our lives can make on others. Our changes will hopefully inspire others to change as well. We need to start small, focus on things we can control and grow from there. This is our home and one we should be proud of. If not for yourself, then for the children that will grow up calling Rutland home.
