GE wins another $2.6 million Navy contract
GE wins another Navy contract
The Rutland GE Aviation plants have been awarded an additional $2.6 million for a Navy contract for the development and production of fighter engines for the EA-18G Growler, the office of Sen. Patrick Leahy announced Friday.
The modification is to a previously awarded contract. It comes on the heels of a $5.4 million contract made to GE Rutland last week.
The contract is being divided among several GE plants and totals more than $22 million.
GE Rutland received 12 percent — about $2.6 million — of the additional work.
Leahy is the most senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and its Defense Subcommittee.
GE has invested more than $75 million over three years in its Rutland blade and vane plants on Windcrest Road and Columbian Avenue.
