    Beatrice L. Sausville

    BENNINGTON — Beatrice Longtin Sausville, 80, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her residence.

    She was born May 30, 1932, in Manchester, the daughter of Adrian and Ethel (Lake) Longtin.

    She received her education in Manchester and was a graduate of Burr & Burton Seminary, where she was captain of the girls basketball team and was recently inducted into the Burr & Burton Hall of Fame.

    She married William J. Sausville Jr. on June 20, 1959, at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Manchester.

    In earlier years she was employed at Thompson Manufacturing and Ben-Mont Paper Company. For 30 years she was employed at Jard in Bennington, and later at Mack Molding in Arlington. She most recently was employed at McDonald’s.

    She enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was an avid walker, enjoyed going to tag sales and scratch-off tickets.

    She was a member of the American Legion Post 13 Auxiliary.

    Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Shea, Joan Reilly and Jean Pinsonneault, all of Bennington; a son, Peter J. Sausville Sr. of Bennington; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Elizabeth “Betty” Decker of Albany, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was predeceased by her husband; two sisters, Pauline Selig and Yvonne Bruley; and a brother, Ralph Longtin.

    The funeral will be held Friday, April 26, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, and then from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m., where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.

    Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington.

    Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, April 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.
