In a March 25 editorial regarding gun control the Herald’s editorial writer referred to an appearance on “Meet The Press” by the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre. LaPierre offered an interesting piece of information that I had never heard before and that I felt was very news worthy.

Specifically, LaPierre asked the show’s host David Gregory: “Why doesn’t NBC News start with, ‘of all the jurisdictions in the country, Chicago is dead last in the enforcement of federal gun laws?’ Why doesn’t the national press corps, when they are sitting down with Jay Carney and the president and the vice president, why don’t they say ‘Why is Chicago dead last in enforcement of the (federal) gun laws against gangs with guns, felons with guns, drug dealers with guns?’”

LaPierre may have as well been talking to the wall, as his question was totally ignored by Gregory, just as it is by the Herald. I wonder why?
