Charlene Voghell

ROCHESTER — Charlene Mary Jesso Voghell, 64, died on March 13, 2013, in Harwich, Mass., with her daughters by her side.

Born July 14, 1948, in Randolph, Vt., she was the daughter of Andrew and Chloe (Coburn) Jesso.

Charlene attended school in Rochester, graduating in 1966. She then attended Champlain College to become a legal secretary.

Over the years, she worked as a legal secretary in the White River Junction area and for many years, worked in the library at Vermont Technical College. There were many days that Charlene commuted to work on her brother’s moped.

Charlene was a huge fan of Jerry Lee Lewis and James Bond movies. She was an excellent seamstress. The light of her life was her grandson, Derek Andrew. Charlene enjoyed cooking and was famous for her baked beans and dump cake. She loved the ocean and enjoyed many trips to the Maine coast. She also enjoyed taking her daughters, when they were young, on spontaneous road trips and they had many great adventures. Charlene was a devoted mother and grandmother and she leaves many classmates, co-workers, friends and family with fond memories.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Ryone and her husband Derek, Christine Menard and her husband Dan, Sheila Towle and her husband Chris; her grandson, Derek Andrew Ryone; her older brothers, Keith and Larry; her nieces, Sandy, Linda, Jill, Janet, Juli, Jody, Shelley, and her nephews, Gordon and Alan. Charlene was predeceased by her parents; older brother Wendell; younger sister Cheryl; her niece, Sharon, and her nephew, Steve.
