SOUTH ROYALTON — Vermont Law School was ranked number one in environmental law in U.S. News and World Report’s 2014 best graduate schools issue.

It marks the fifth year in a row that Vermont Law School has been recognized by the magazine as the best law school in the nation.

Vermont Law School has been ranked number one or number two by the magazine for environmental law since 1991 and has been ranked number one for 16 of those 23 years.

“This ranking reaffirms that VLS is a school with national impact on one of the most important issues of our time,” President and Dean Marc Mihaly said. “I am extremely proud of the entire VLS community for their hard work and commitment to our environmental curriculum, clinics and institutes.”

Vermont Law School is a private, independent institution that offers a juris doctor curriculum, two master’s degrees (Master of Environmental Law and Policy, and Master of Energy Regulation and Law) and three post-JD degrees (LLM in American Legal Studies, LLM in Energy Law, and LLM in Environmental Law).
