    OVUHS meeting

    on student survey

BRANDON — Otter Valley Union High School is hosting a community dialogue night tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The intent is to bring students, parents and community members together to talk about student life in light of recent results from the Vermont Youth Risk Behavior Survey.

Sixty-five percent of girls had been bullied in the last 30 days, according to the survey, and 65 percent of students said it’s easy to get alcohol or marijuana. Nearly 90 percent of parents think it’s wrong to use alcohol, tobacco or marijuana.

Otter Valley students can earn extra credit or be exempt from homework just for attending. Parents can learn more about the forces, positive and negative, shaping their children’s lives.
