    targeted by police

Rutland Police plan to conduct sobriety checkpoints in the city this month.

Police Lt. Kevin Geno said the checkpoints are prompted in part by four fatal crashes that took place in the city last year two of which involved impaired drivers.

The checkpoints will target people who are under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, police said.
