    SALISBURY — Paul Heudorfer, 74, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at his home, after a period of failing health.

    Born Jan. 1, 1939 in Tripoli, Libya, he was the son of Paul and Emma (Heiniger) Heudorfer. In his early childhood, his father died and he was raised by his stepfather, Anton Karl Heudorfer.

    He was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in 1956 and Brooklyn Community College where he studied electrical engineering.

    Mr. Heudorfer served in the U.S. Army from 1959 through 1962, including at Tulle Air Force Base in Greenland.

    He was an electrical engineer at IBM in Essex Junction. He and his wife operated a dairy farm, now Salisbury Angus Farm.

    He served on the Salisbury Planning Board, as a justice of the peace, and was presently on the board of Vermont Beef Association.

    Mr. Heudorfer enjoyed skiing, gardening and his fruit trees.

    Survivors include his wife, Christine A. (Colford) of Salisbury, whom he married June 21, 1964; two daughters, Karen Heudorfer of Saco, Maine, and Ingrid Kaufmann of Salisbury; a brother, John Heudorfer of Harvard, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

    Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury.

    The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the funeral home with the Rev. William Beaudin, pastor of St. Mary’s Church, officiating.

    Burial will be at a later date in West Salisbury Cemetery.
