O’Connor wins Select Board race over Agave
BRATTLEBORO — Kate O’Connor, a longtime aide to former Gov. Howard Dean, won election to a three-year seat on the Brattleboro Select Board Tuesday, defeating former Select Board member Ben “Spoon” Agave. The tally was 985-664.
Also winning election were John Allen and David Schoales, who were elected to two one-year seats on the board. Allen received 710 votes and Schoales received 580 votes, in a six-way race for the two open seats. Other candidates were Ian Kiehl, 564 votes, Donna Macomber, 534, Phil Kramer, 334, and David Cadran, 256.
Longtime Brattleboro attorney Lawrin Crispe narrowly defeat Doug Cox for town meeting moderator, by a vote of 779-761. Crispe will replace the retiring moderator Timothy O’Connor.
