School budgets pass in Chester
CHESTER — Voters in Chester passed three school budgets, two special articles and re-elected two Select Board incumbents on Town Meeting Day.
The $208,273 town school district budget passed 360-175; the $5,808,609 Green Mountain Union High School budget passed 469-309 and the $2,812,062 River Valley Tech Center budget passed 337-129.
Voters approved $25,000 for the Chester-Andover Elementary School capital surplus fund, 375-155 and $15,000 for the Green Mountain Union High School technology equipment and repair reserve fund, 581-196.
There were three candidates vying for two one-year Select Board seats. Thomas Bock was re-elected with 288 votes and Arne Jonynas was re-elected with 278 votes. Tami Ravlin lost with 225 votes.
No information was provided on the town budget. The $2,433,806 town budget was $69,197, or 2.9 percent, more than this year’s budget of $2,364,609.
