WILLIAMSTOWN — Beatrice Lewis, 87, formerly of Wallingford, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at her residence, following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Brattleboro, the daughter of Alfred and Beatrice Pearl (Monmaney) Bassett.
Mrs. Lewis retired from Rutland Hospital after 24 years as a linen seamstress.
She was a member of St. Peter Church in Rutland.
She enjoyed crocheting and child care.
Survivors include her granddaughter and caregiver, Kim Mulcahy of Williamstown; a grandson, John Sargent Jr. of Wells; several great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Lewis, in 1987; a daughter, Sandra Gould, in 1991; two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Wallingford-Aldous Funeral Home, North Main Street, Wallingford.
The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at St. Peter Church.
Burial will be at a later date in Danby-Scottsville Cemetery.
