BRANDON — Hazel Mae Corey, age 87, died Sunday, February 17, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Corey was born May 1, 1925, in Shoreham, the daughter of Arthur and Lottie Carey. She spent her early years in Shoreham and all of her adult life in Brandon.
She married Arthur John Corey Aug. 23, 1952, in Brandon. Mr. Corey died September 21, 1993.
Mrs. Corey’s special interests included playing bingo, fishing, dining out and feeding animals.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Guillemette, Brandon; one stepson, Larry Garrow, Rutland; four stepdaughters, Joan Atwood, Leicester, Doris Aldridge, North Carolina, Helen Hale, Ludlow, and Betty Osmer, Florida; four grandchildren, Sherry Smith of Pittsford, John Corey of Benson, Damien Guillemette of Sudbury and Eric Guillemette of Rutland; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous step-grandchildren.
Six brothers, Ernest Carey, Charles Carey, Stuart Carey, Francis Carey, Ralph Carey and Pete Carey, predeceased her.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Miller and Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The Reverend Kathleen Bevan, pastor of the Brandon United Methodist Church, will conduct the service. Later burial will take place in Forest Dale Cemetery in Forest Dale.
Friends may call at the Miller and Ketcham Funeral Home, 26 Franklin St. in Brandon, on Saturday, February 23, 2013, from 12 noon until the hour of the service, at 2 p.m.
