LONDONDERRY — Marilyn “Mena” (Hill) Charlton died February 13, 2013, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital, after a short illness.
She was born January 6, 1938, in New London, Connecticut, daughter of Kenneth and Edith Hill.
Marilyn moved to Chester, Vermont, as a young child, graduating from Chester High in 1956. Working at Gould’s Market and Lisai’s, she met many people and had many friends. Marilyn enjoyed her home, her cat, Skittles, and feeding the birds. She knitted premie-baby sweaters for Dartmouth-Hitchcock. She was married to Robert Charlton from 1977 until his death in 1998. She enjoyed a long relationship with “Whit” Whitcomb until his death in 2012.
She leaves her sister, Lorraine Aldrich and husband Roy; her daughter, Julie Adams and husband Gary; granddaughter Becca Adams; niece and nephews Carrie Baker and Ernie Stewart, their children and many close friends.
A graveside gathering will take place in the spring.
