Hello, my name is John Mattison Jr., and I am seeking a seat on the Board of Aldermen. I am married, have three children and have lived in this community for more than 30 years. I have owned my own home for the past 10 and a half years.

As an active member of the community, I would like to work on issues that are important to our great city. No one wants to see their city fall behind or fail. I believe that in order to succeed we need to make our city more business-friendly, with sounder infrastructure, lower tax rates, and more affordable utilities.

As a community we are only as strong as our weakest citizen. To strengthen our community we must consider each individual within our community. It is time to come together as a whole and to compromise when we have differences.

I feel I am avoice for common sense in tough economic times. If elected, I will work hard to represent the people of Rutland City, and listen to all sides of each issue brought before the Board of Aldermen. I am asking you, the residents of Rutland, to come out to the polls on March 5 and vote for me.
