Troubled airplane lands safely in NY
ALBANY, N.Y. — New York State Police said a small plane was undamaged and its pilot unhurt after an emergency landing in a field south of the Catskills.
The single-engine Piper Cherokee Warrior made the landing Monday in the Sullivan County town of Bethel after departing Rutland, Vt., police said. It was en route to Pottsville, Pa.
Police said pilot Brent Kozura, 22, of Pottsville, N.Y., was being diverted to Sullivan County Airport because of mechanical problems, but was unable to reach the airport and landed the plane in a nearby field.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
