BRANDON — Ray Edward Pinson, 52, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Denver, Colo., Jan. 21, 1960, the son of Beulah (Carver) and Edward Robert Pinson.
He graduated from Wheat Ridge (Colo.) High School in 1978 and from Denver Automotive and Diesel College in 1980.
Mr. Pinson was honorably discharged after serving in the U.S. Army for two years and he later served in the Air National Guard.
He worked as an automobile mechanic in Canterbury, Conn., was employed at Foster Motors in Middlebury and as service manager at Hendy Brothers in Middlebury. He taught automobile mechanics at the Hannaford Center in Middlebury for many years, as well as mechanics at East Providence (R.I.) Vocational Center for two years before being forced to retire in 2010, due to illness.
He was a member of Brandon-Forestdale Lions Club and Brandon American Legion Post #55.
Mr. Pinson enjoyed car restoration, landscaping and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Jane (Mills) Pinson, whom he married July 16, 1983, in Middlebury, and two daughters, Danielle and Kaylee Pinson, all of Brandon; his mother of Wheat Ridge; two brothers, Roger and Ronald Pinson, both of Arvada, Colo.
He was predeceased by his father in 2004.
The memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the funeral home.
