It would be interesting to have a report on the percent of search and rescue costs that are recouped from out-of-bounds skiers. My guess is very little. I suggest a ticket deposit on each ski ticket sold, to be paid back when you return it at the end of the day by non-out-of-bound skiers. Any funds not returned would be paid to rescue crews involved in finding skiers who wish to disobey ski area rules and signs.
