KISSIMEE, Fla. — Claude A. Griffin, 82, formerly of Proctor, Vt., died Dec. 27, 2012, at his home in Kissimee.
He was born May 18, 1930, in Sudbury, Vt., the son of Delmer and Mildred (Jenks) Griffin.
He was formerly employed as an inspector at General Electric in Rutland, Vt.
He served with the Army National Guard, and was a member of American Legion Post 10 in Florida. He was a former member of American Legion Post 87, VFW Post 648, Loyal Order of Moose 112, DAV 7, Sutherland Falls Lodge 108 F&AM, Cairo Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Rutland, Vt.
Survivors include a daughter, Terri Blackburn of Taylors, S.C.; three sons, Lenn Griffin of Grove, Texas, Brian Griffin of Cuttingsville, Vt., and David Griffin of Proctor, Vt.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Patnode of Norfolk, Va.; his partner and caregiver, RoseMarie Duggan of Kissimee; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan (Dovala) Griffin in 2001, and brothers and sisters.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at a later date, with a time and place to be announced.
