Thomas M. Welch Rites

Funeral services for Thomas M. Welch, 68, of Rutland, who died December 6, 2012, were held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church in Rutland. Officiating was Rev. James Dodson, parochial vicar. Concelebrants were Rev. Peter Guerin, O.S.B., and Rev. Benet Phillips, O.S.B., of St. Anselm Abbey at St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.

A reception was held in Engle Hall for family and friends.

Many loving family members participated in the services for Tom.

Altar servers were cousin Janel Bove, Lauren Serafino, and grandnephew Braeden McCabe. The organist was William Gower-Johnson. Niece Amy-Jayne (Welch) McCabe was the vocalist and the readers were nieces Sara Welch and Jessica (Welch) Henderson.

Gift bearers were grandnieces Loren Henderson, Madeline McCabe, and grandnephew Jacob Henderson.

Selected words and a poem were read by his brother, Peter Welch, and the eulogy was delivered by longtime friend and classmate Bartley J. Costello Esq.

Bearers were nephews Samuel Welch, Nicholas Welch, Anthony Welch, George Routzhan, Ronald Henderson and Patrick McCabe.

Prayer services had been held on Monday evening, December 10, by Rev. James Dodson at Clifford Funeral Home.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the Hackett Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester, N.H., for its care of Tom during his illness and to the people of Rutland for their kind consideration of Tom over the years.
