    BRANDON — Dawn M. Stevens, 76, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

    She was born Sept. 2, 1936, in Middlebury, the daughter of Harold M. and Evelyn E. (Coursey) Stevens.

    She was a graduate of Middlebury High School, class of 1954.

    She was a homemaker and had in earlier years been employed by Chittenden Trust, and later Chittenden Bank. She retired in 1991.

    She lived in Brandon for the past 11 years, and had previously resided in Middlebury.

    She was a Christian, and attended the Bridport Congregational Church.

    She was an avid reader, bird watcher and gardener.

    Survivors include four daughters, Kim E. Hescock of Cornwall, Carolyn M. Costello of Brandon, Kelly A. Turk of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Jane S. Costello of Shoreham; a son, John P. Costello of San Diego, Calif.; four brothers, Ronald Stevens of Cornwall, Rodney Stevens of Umatilla, Fla., Robert Stevens of Fallsington, Pa., and Harold Stevens of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

    She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Stevens, and a grandson, Ira Hescock.

    The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Bridport Congregational Church, with the Rev. Tim Franklin, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Cornwall.

    Friends may call Friday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury.
