Last week our signs were stolen from our lawn. They read “No Industrial Wind.” The person or people who decided to engage in this night-shopping, tip-toeing behavior specifically targeted these signs and did not steal any of the other political signs we had.

I have since discovered that these same signs have disappeared from our neighbors, people in the town of Pittsford, West Rutland, and Clarendon. Here is the message I would like to send to these people: We are not afraid to show our faces and voice our opinions and talk about the information behind our opinions. I would like you to show your face, return our signs and feel free to express your opinion. I am proud to live in a country where freedom of speech is valued and treasured and I do not wish to slink around in the dark and try to limit yours. Stealing is stealing and the right to express your own opinions openly is legal. I respect yours, and it is too bad that you cannot respect mine.
