    BRANDON — Charles James Pepper, 57, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

    He was born June 1, 1955, in Stamford, Conn., the son of Charles and Patricia (Shaw) Pepper.

    He grew up in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School, Class of 1980.

    He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Europe.

    Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and entered the construction industry. He had been a carpenter and antique furniture refinisher. He had also driven truck and the medical bus for the city of Hartford, Conn.

    He graduated from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, Ariz.

    He was a resident of Brandon, having moved from Bristol.

    Survivors include two brothers, James Pepper of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Keith Pepper of Stratford, Conn.; three sisters, Patricia Grant of Madison, Wis., Eileen Barcello of Monroe, Conn., and Lynne Naring of Norwalk, Conn.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.

    The funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. The Rev. Albert “Skip” Baltz, chaplain of the Vermont Army National Guard, will officiate. The graveside committal service and burial, with military honors, will follow.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
