CHESTER — The Green Mountain Middle School seventh-grade class is sponsoring a fundraiser to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Their goal is to raise $1,500 by Nov. 30.

Many students had friends and families who lost their homes to Tropical Storm Irene last year. As a result of their experiences, they wanted to assist others that are facing the same challenges.

The seventh-grade class has collection jars at locations in Chester, Cavendish and Ludlow.

Checks are also accepted and can be made out to GMUHS (memo: Hurricane Sandy Relief). Send checks to GMUHS, Attn.: Ashley Carafiello, 716 Route 103, Chester, VT 05143.
