Woman taken to hospital after Poultney crash
POULTNEY — A local woman was taken to the hospital after complaining of difficulty breathing following a one-vehicle crash on Saturday morning, Vermont State Police said.
Patricia Hartwell, 61, of Poultney, was driving on Route 30 near Calvin Lane in Poultney in her green 2007 Saturn Ion when she drifted over the center double yellow line. Police said Hartwell told them she saw oncoming traffic and panicked, causing her to over-correct her steering and drive off the road into a ditch.
Hartwell was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center after the crash.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Fair Haven Police Department, Fair Haven Rescue Service, Poultney Rescue Service and Poultney Fire Department.
