Uncontested Southern Vermont races
In Bennington County, Democratic Sens. Bob Hartwell and Dick Sears won uncontested races.
There were three uncontested House races in Bennington County. These were won by Democrat Bill Botzow, representing Pownal and Woodford (Bennington District 1); Democrat Alice Miller, representing Glastenbury, Shaftsbury and part of Sunderland (Bennington District 3); and Democrats Cynthia Browning and Jeff Wilson, representing Arlington, Manchester, Sandgate and part of Sunderland (Bennington District 4).
In Windham County, there were seven uncontested House races. These were won by Republican Michael Hebert, representing Guilford and Vernon (Windham 1); Democrat Valerie A. Stuart, representing Brattleboro (Windham 2-1); Democrat Mollie S. Burke, representing Brattleboro (Windham 2-2); Democrats Carolyn W. Partridge and Matthew A. Trieber, representing Athens, Brookline, Grafton, Rockingham, Windham and part of Westminster (Windham 3); Democrat Richard J. Marek, representing Marlboro, Newfane and Townshend (Windham 5); Democrat Ann Manwaring, representing Halifax, Wilmington and part of Whitingham (Windham 6); and Democrat John Moran, representing Dover, Readsboro, Searsburg, Somerset, Stamford, Wardsboro and part of Whitingham (Windham-Bennington).
In Windsor County, there were five uncontested House races. These were won by Democrat Leigh J. Dakin, representing Andover, Baltimore, Chester and part of Springfield (Windsor 3-1); Democrats Alice M. Emmons and Cynthia Martin, representing Springfield (Windsor 3-2); Democrat Teo Zagar, representing Barnard, Pomfret and part of Hartford (Windsor 4-1); Democrat Alison Clarkson, representing Plymouth, Reading and Woodstock (Windsor 5); and Democrats Margaret Cheney and Jim Masland, representing Norwich, Sharon, Strafford and Thetford (Windsor-Orange 2).
