    SUDBURY — Barbara Louise Mulcahy, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at her home.

    She was born in Sudbury July 12, 1924, the daughter of Robert Perry and Lena (Churchill) Ketcham.

    She graduated from Brandon High School in 1942 and earned her R.N. from New England Baptist Hospital in Boston in 1946.

    After working for a short time in Boston, she married Charles Edward Mulcahy in Orwell Sept. 8, 1947.

    Mrs. Mulcahy was employed as a registered nurse at Porter Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1997.

    She was a member of Brandon American Legion Unit 55 Ladies Auxiliary.

    Survivors include her husband of Sudbury; six children, Pamela Ketcham of Brandon, Gail Blas of Dayton, Nev., Maureen White-Mulcahy of Palo Alto, Calif., Michelle Goddard of Orwell, Charles Jr. and Robert Mulcahy, both of Sudbury; a sister, Anna Edwards of Lander, Wyo.; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was predeceased by four siblings, Mary Elliott, Charles, Martin and Robert Ketcham, and a grandson.

    Services will be private with burial in Hill Cemetery in Sudbury.

    Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the family home on Huff Pond Road in Sudbury.

    Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, 7 Albert Cree Drive, Rutland, VT 05701; or Brandon Area Rescue Squad, PO Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
