    Teen charged with

    thefts, vandalism

Rutland City Police say a series of car break-ins and vandalisms on State Street and Evergreen Avenue last month were committed by a 17-year-old who is facing multiple criminal charges.

The officer who handled the case ó damage or thefts involving more than a dozen cars parked on the two city streets ó did not identify the teenager in a written release.

On Sept. 22, police were called to the two streets where a number of vehicle tires had been slashed while others had been broken into.

On Oct. 22, police issued a criminal citation to the 17-year-old charging him with two felony counts of unlawful mischief, seven misdemeanor counts of unlawful mischief and one misdemeanor charge of petit larceny.

More charges are pending, police said.

Anyone with information about the break-ins or vandalism is asked to call Officer Timothy Tuttle at 773-1820 ext. 47.
