I hope it is not too late to change the fate of Bill and Lou. They are the oxen employees of Green Mountain College who have faithfully served their college and fellows employees and students. They are more than just meat served on a platter.

As we live in the 21st century, let their retirement from duty be a 21st century compassionate retirement for them at the VINE sanctuary (bless you and thank you all at VINE!). Green Mountain College will be forever judged by the world when it comes to these loyal and gentle oxen. Please, it is not too late, let go of your 19th century farm ideals.

We, the people of the world, beg you to please open your hearts and let them end out their years together at the sanctuary. We, the world, will be very proud of you for doing so, and more importantly, it is just the highest right thing to do.
