BURLINGTON — Adam Saldi, 31, of Barre, was sentenced Thursday to 12 months and one day in prison, followed by two years supervised release, for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The sentence was handed down by Chief Judge William K. Sessions III.

According to the U.S. Attorney, court records indicate Saldi admitted he assisted a friend, now deceased of drug overdose, in trading two stolen pistols for crack cocaine. The buyer of the firearms later sold them, with some crack cocaine, to an undercover officer posing as a drug buyer.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the State Drug Task Force.
