Institute a gem of learning

This past Thursday I had the time of my life. I was an invited guest, along with Vermont Governor's Institute board member Wendy Cohen, to the Vermont Governor's Institute on the Arts, which is held on the Castleton State College campus. Over 90 students from all over Vermont spend two weeks at this incredible institute, working with artists, writers, and poets. This conference is filled with energy, excitement, and unexpected possibilities.
Kudos to everyone involved in making this conference happen, including Donny, the director, and our fearless, energetic hosts for the day, Corey, Sarah and Elizabeth. Thank you for your gracious, welcoming tour and for all you do on behalf of the Institute. I encourage all Vermonters to support this wonderful Institute. Teachers can help by promoting the Institute in our schools, and philanthropists can help by donating their time, by serving on the board of directors, or simply through their financial donations. Those in government, please continue to fund this extraordinary Institute which provides opportunities for our Vermont students to explore the arts.
This is a gem tucked away in these Green Mountains, one that shines bright and long after the two weeks end.
